Your Cape Town safari
Looking to experience a varied wildlife and big 5 safari not far from Cape Town? Well you can do just that, in the convenience and luxury of an extensive private game reserve. You can also bring the family along - children are welcome and well catered for.

This is a safari experience you don't want to miss. In case you were thinking that the Southern Cape region has nothing to offer in terms of a real safari, read on.

About 2 hours. drive from the city centre, situated in the Highlands of the Southern Karoo, in a malaria free zone, is an exclusive private game reserve. It comprises 4,500 hectares of diverse natural environment, including wetland, and home to a large variety of animal, bird and plant life.

You'll be able to see and experience lots of big game. In fact all the well known African Big five are to be found in their natural habitat on this extensive reserve. They are the lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant.

A number of safari package options are on offer in the reserve and accommodation is provided in the form of fully equipped luxury thatched cottages. There is also a conference centre, restaurant and cigar bar.

Safaris
Transport is arranged between your hotel and the reserve as necessary. You can choose from day or night safari game drives with transport, or self drive.

Early morning and evening horse-back safaris are also offered on the reserve and are popular. A unique way for you to approach much closer to the wildlife for some memorable photos.

You also get the option of a fly-in safari which incorporates a light plane flight over the Hex River mountains and Robben Island, with transfers between your hotel and the airport included.

All the safari packages include transport as required, breakfast, lunch - and dinner on the overnight safari.

Your Safari Accommodation
The cosy cottages offer en suite bathrooms, fire places and mini bars. The luxury cottages are built from locally available eco friendly natural materials and blend in with their surroundings. There is also a honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi.

Conferencing
The Conference Centre is also built from natural materials. It offers delegates a scenic and relaxing setting in which to host business seminars, special events and team building functions. Other Activities
There are plenty of activities on the reserve. Enough to satisfy most interests.
These include: Viewing Bushmen paintings, quad bikes, hiking trails, atv/4x4 trails and mountain biking.

Animals, birds and plantlife
Some of the amazing variety of animal life to be found on the Cape Town safari reserve - apart from those already mentioned, includes zebra, giraffe, eland, hartebeest, various buck, hippo and crocodiles. The reserve is situated on the National Flower Route and contains a wide biodiversity of plant life. A feature is the carpet of Karoo flowers which bloom during the wet Cape Winter months.
